A video produced for Pandoteira Life Project. Members of the team from the Game and Fauna Service & Birdlife Cyprus placed artificial nests for European Rollers (Coracias garrulus) in the area of Polis Chrysochous. The goal is to help increase the population of the species on our island. But instead of building new nests, they followed the alternative solution of reuse. The nests are made from old wooden ammunition boxes, which have been adapted to make suitable nests for the particular species. In this way costs are reduced and valuable raw materials are saved, as well as energy.
